When you arrive by car, you can find many parking areas on different sides of the fell. We have compiled a list of recommended parking areas.

Plenty of parking in the Ruka area
The heated Ruka Parking Hall next to the slopes
Ruka’s underground garage is absolutely the easiest parking facility. The parking hall is only some twenty metres from the slopes and all the services of Ruka village. The prices of Ruka Parking Hall are easy on the pocket.
Short-term parking close to shops
In addition, parking areas for short-term parking are available in the vicinity of commercial premises. These include the parking areas behind and in front of Shopping Centre Kumpare, the area in front of Ruka Conference Centre (with the exception of areas designed for Scandic Rukahovi’s customer parking and bus parking) and the parking area at Sale Ruka. These short-term parking areas are often full during high season, which is why we recommend taking a look at other parking areas, especially on the Vuosseli side.
The parking areas listed below are along the SkiBus route in the Ruka area. The SkiBus is free of charge in the Ruka area with a valid ski pass or when travelling with skiing or snowboarding gear.

- Suitable for cross-country skiers, especially when the parking area in Uuttusuo Cafe is full.

Park only in permitted areas
Parking in Ruka village area is supervised by ParkkiPate from 1.8.2023 onwards. The goal is to increase safety and comfort in Ruka village area.
Charging stations for electric cars
You can find the following charging stations for electric cars in Ruka area:
- Ruka village: Ruka Parking Hall x 9, of which some are fast charging. (Parking subject to a separate fee.)
- Ruka Valley: Vuosselinportti Rental Shop x 4
- Ruka Valley: Ski-Inn Hotel RukaValley x 2
- Magical Pond x 6 (regular charding speed), available according to the opening hours of the reception. Charging stations are located nearby the reception and are available to all guests with a separate fee.
- Iisakki Glass Village x 1.
Charging stations in Kuusamo centre:
- Tourism and Culture Centre Karhuntassu: 2 x 150kW fast charging stations.
- Holiday Club Kuusamon Tropiikki 4 x 22kW, charging and prices with Virta mobile app, 2 x 22kW Tesla Destination Charger, free for Tesla drivers.

When driving from Helsinki to Kuusamo, you can recharge your electric car with a high power charger at Graani’s McDonalds in Mikkeli. When arriving along road number 5, there is a Neste My recharge station in Neste Kontiomäki (Paltamo) with 6 high power chargers as well as a recharge infra four car high power charger in Suomussalmi at Jalonniemi House.
